Finnish meat prices to go up 20 percent on higher grain prices

Finnish meat product company Snellman's Managing Director, Martti Vahakangas, expects the price of pork to go up at least 20 percent in Finland in the next 12 months.

His sentiments were echoed by a second food industry company Atria's Managing Director Juha Gröhn.

Sharply higher grain prices have made it impossible to keep meat prices low.

According to Vähäkangas, price increases will be highest in the case of pork and second highest in the case of beef.
