German feed makers buy about 100,000 tonnes of Brazil corn
Animal feed makers in Germany bought over 100,000 tonnes of Brazilian corn in the past two weeks as an alternative to wheat at record high prices, traders said.
Large volumes of US sorghum and Asian tapioca had also been bought.
German imports of Brazilian corn are rare, traders said.
On Wednesday, French sources also said large imports of Brazilian corn were being made by feed makers because of record wheat prices.
