Frozen Chicken Prices Stable In Singapore Despite Malaysian Poultry Ban

Despite the ban on poultry and eggs from Malaysia, the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority in Singapore says that the price of frozen chicken is stable.

A daily survey of seven supermarkets and five wet markets found that the price is about S$3.50 per kilogram.

Egg prices, on the other hand, have increased from S$1.50 to approximately S$2.20 for 10 eggs.

Meanwhile, the AVA is encouraging and helping traders bring in supplies from alternative sources quickly.

These include frozen chicken supplies from Brazil, Netherlands and the USA. Eggs will be brought in from New Zealand and Australia.
