Taiwan to announce legalised limits for ractopamine in beef imports
Taiwan will announce legalised limits for ractopamine in beef imports and origin labelling requirements which are to take effect by mid-September.
Meanwhile, the public can make comments on the measures, Kang Jaw-jou, Director-general of the Department of Health's Food and Drug Administration, said recently.
According to him, it is unlikely that the government would re-evaluate the standard of current ractopamine limit in beef at 10 parts per billion, the newly criterion resulted from recent Washington talks which viewed the ban as a trade barrier.
