Belarus reaps 2.13 million-hectare grain area
Agrarians of Belarus gathered grains and leguminous crops throughout the areas of 2.13 million ha (94% of the sowing areas) as of August 22, declared the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
All agricultural enterprises of Belarus produced 7.393 million tonnes of grains with the average yield of 34.7 c/ha, up 5 c/ha compared to 2010.
Agrarians of Belarus started harvesting buckwheat and millet. The country harvested buckwheat throughout 2,400 ha from the planned areas of 37,000 ha. The production volumes totalled 4,100 tonnes with the average yield of 17.2 c/ha. Agrarians harvested millet throughout 2,500 ha, which totalled 19.2% of the sowing areas. The production volumes totalled 5,700 tonnes with the average yield of 23.2 c/ha. The country almost concluded the harvesting campaign of flaxseed.
As of the reporting date agrarians provided the sowing campaign of winter rapeseed. Belarus sowed the oilseed throughout 336,800 ha (79.8% of the plan).
