US meat stocks 3.7 percent higher on-year
According to the USDA, US red meat in cold storage in July this year totaled 897.053 million pounds, up 4.8 percent on-year and 3.7 percent higher than June levels.
Total pork stocks were reported at 411.652 million pounds, 8 percent less than last year and 1 percent higher than a month ago
Beef stocks totaled 466.801 million pounds, up 7 percent from last month and 21 percent more than last year, with boneless cuts making up most of that total.
Frozen poultry stocks remained similar, coming out at 1.272 billion pounds, compared to 1.295 billion the month prior and 1.244 billion last year.
All chicken supplies were reported at 753.291 million pounds, up 31.099 million from a year ago.
