South Africa expects larger corn harvest for 2005

South Africa's corn harvest for 2005 was expected to reach 12.180 million tonnes, up from 12.092 million tonnes estimated in July this year, according to the country's government.

However, that was reportedly lower than the industry estimate at 12.4 million tonnes.

The government said it expected a 7.265 million tonne white maize crop and a 4.916 million tonne yellow maize crop this year.
