South Africa hit again by swine fever
South Africa's government said it started culling about 12 000 pigs in the Eastern Cape rural town of Idutywa, where a second outbreak of swine fever has been confirmed.
Last month, the country was hit by its first swine fever outbreak since 1918.
Officials were expected to move to Queenstown in the west, where about 8,400 pigs had also shown signs of swine fever and might be culled.
