Taiwan's MFIG Buys 56,000 MT US Corn From Cargill In Tender

Taiwan's Members Feed Industry Group bought 56,000 metric tons of U.S. No. 2 corn from U.S. trading house Cargill in a tender concluded Friday, said a Taipei-based MFIG official.

MFIG bought 49,080 tons of corn at a premium of 157.65 cents a bushel over the Chicago Board of Trade's December contract, and the remaining 6,920 tons at $156.15/ton. Both prices are cost and freight basis to Taiwan, the official said.

The cargo is to be shipped either from the U.S. Gulf between Sept. 25 and Oct. 9, or from the Pacific Northwest from Oct. 10-Oct. 24, at the seller's option, said the official.
