Chinese festival, rising export orders push Thai broiler prices up (week ended August 8, 2014)
Millions of Thais of Chinese origin observe the Hungry Ghost Festival, which runs from Aug. 10 to 28 this year, by offering food to departed ancestors. Increased export demand, especially for Japan, has also helped boost local broiler prices.
