Sichuan copper sulphate market remains stable
Copper sulphate prices in Sichuan remain stable with factory quotes staying at RMB13.6/kg (US$2.22/kg) to RMB13.8/kg (US$2.25/kg).
On August 14 last week, workers at the world's largest copper mine - Chile's Escondida - staged a surprise 24-hour strike to demand improved working conditions and a bonus, sending copper prices to a near nine-week high in Asian trade the next day.
Demand in China has shown signs of recovering. As China's growth is stabilising, optimism on the Chinese economy boosted confidence about demand for industrial materials.
