Ukraine has sufficient grain stocks to last till 2014 harvest

 

 

Ukraine Prime Minister, Nikolai Azarov said on August 16, 2012 that the country has sufficient carry-over grain stocks to last till 2014 harvest even if there is no grain harvest by next year.

 

As a reminder, according to Nikolai Prysyazhnyuk, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, in mid-July the carry-over stocks of grains in Ukraine totalled nearly 10 million tonnes.

 

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy expects for the general grain harvest in the current year at the level of 45.3 million tonnes, against 56.7 million tonnes in 2011.
