Ropopharm's oregano supplement expands in feed market
Ropadiar, the oregano-based supplement for livestock developed by Ropapharm International, has been certified for inclusion in pig and poultry diets by leading UK organic control body Organic Farmers and Growers (OF&G).
The patented product is distributed in the UK by Suffolk-based GE Baker Ltd (Quality Equipment).
Ropadiar contains oregano oils that reportedly have a positive effect on feed intake, particularly during periods of high performance, contributing to the well being of birds and swine, and thus improving profit.
Ropadiar is a natural product that requires no withdrawal period, and is normally included in the diet at the rate of around one kg per tonne.
The product is used successfully in the UK, and independent tests have showed that it has significantly more active ingredient than other oregano-based additives, according to GE Baker director Graham Baker.
