Kazakhstan 2008-2009 grain export seen to fall at 5 million tonnes
   

   

Kazakhstan's grain export in marketing year 2008-2009 is likely to be 5 million to 5.5 million tonnes compared with 6.1 million tonnes on-year, the national railway company Kazkahstan Temir Zholy announced Thursday (August 21).

 

The railway company said it planned to transport 700,000 to 800,000 tonnes of grain in September, including 500,000 tonnes for export and some 180,000 tonnes for Kazakhstan's use.

 

Currently, the company has 5,229 grain transportation railway cars, of which 542 are outside the country transporting export grain to sea ports.
