Argentina Jan-Jul poultry exports up 29 percent on-year
Argentina's poultry exports during the first seven months of the year rose 29 percent from the same period last year to 77,820 tonnes, the animal and food-inspection agency, Senasa, reported Monday (August 20).
The value of poultry exports from January to July rose 49 percent from the same period in 2006 to US$96 million, Senasa said.
The principal markets for Argentina's fresh poultry exports were Chile and South Africa. Sub-product exports, including wings, feet and innards, were purchased mainly by China and Hong Kong. Germany and Holland were the primary destinations for Argentine processed poultry exports, according to Senasa.
