Aqua event in Norway shows technological connection to aquaculture

The aquaculture industry is increasingly driven by technology and the technology needed to carry out nearly all the tedious tasks associated with aquaculture is being developed and appropriately refined, a Canadian fisheries official said.

Provincial Fisheries Minister Tom Rideout noted at Aqua Nor, a recent aquaculture event in Norway that the technological aspect of aquaculture is generating a lot of interest currently.

Rideout was at the event to meet Norwegian investors to provide them with an overview of the Newfoundland and Labrador aquaculture industry.

The Newfoundland and Labrador provinces were well represented at the show and it was a worthwhile activity for everyone, Rideout said.
