Iran to begin egg exportation to Russia in next two weeks

Iran's egg exporters are one of the latest parties to benefit from developments arising from Russia's sanctions on food products from Western countries due to the ongoing Ukraine-Russia territorial crisis.

According to Hedayat Asghari, the managing director of the Union of Iran's Egg Exporters, Iran will begin exporting eggs to Russia in the next two weeks.

Asghari adds that the country is ready to export 5,000 tonnes of eggs monthly. In addition, he revealed that Iran has produced 20,000 tonnes more eggs every month, with part of the surplus bound for Iraq, Armenia, Tajikistan and Georgia.

Russia had currently imposed a one-year ban on all meat, fish, dairy, fruit and vegetable imports from the US, the EU, Norway, Canada, and Australia.
