Brazil's beef production to rise 22.5% in next 10 years
According to Brazil's latest long-term outlook report, the country's beef production is set to increase by 22.5% over the next 10 years.
Brazil's Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply predicts that total national beef production would reach 10.9 million tonnes by 2022, while exports were forecast to rise to 1.88 million tonnes in the same period.
Beef shipments from Brazil rose by 22% during the first six months of 2013, compared to the same period in 2012, while the value of those imports rose by 14.6% compared to 2012.
The biggest growth was recorded in exports to Hong Kong, Algeria and Iran.
