Ukraine harvested grains and leguminous plants throughout the areas of 9.83 million hectares or 65% of the forecast, while the produced volumes totalled 25.38 million tonnes of grains with the average yield of 25.8 centners/hectare as of August 17, 2012.

In particular, as of the reporting date in 2012 agrarians already harvested 40,600 tonnes of buckwheat throughout the areas of 42,700 hectares (15%). The average yield totalled 9.5 centners/hectare (c/ha).

Also, agrarians started harvesting sunflower seed and soy. As of the reporting date, Ukraine harvested 51,400 tonnes of sunflower seed throughout 51,000 hectares (1%) with the yield of 10.1 c/ha.

Ukraine harvested soy throughout 11,700 hectares, and produced 15,000 tonnes, the yield totalled 12.8 c/ha.

Besides, Ukraine started works to prepare the soil for planting of winter crops. As of the reporting date, agrarians processed the areas of 7.23 million hectares (75% of the plan). Agrarians planted winter rapeseed for the harvest-2013 throughout the areas of 159,900 hectares (17% of the forecast).
