Russia meat output up 1.9 percent on-year

Russia's meat and meat product output rose 1.9 percent on-year in January to July, according to the Federal State Statistics Service.

Pork and poultry production rose 17.8 percent and 11.7 percent on-year, respectively, while beef output fell 12.8 percent on-year during the period.

In July, Russia's meat and meat product output rose 3.8 percent on the year.

In 2008, Russia's meat and meat product output rose 5.5 percent on the year, the statistics service said earlier.
