Azerbaijan's July meat production drops 12.4%
Azerbaijan's meat production for July this year has reduced by 12.4% as against June.
The State Statistics Committee (SSC) informs that in July meat production totalled 25,500 tonnes against 29,100 in June, 24,700 tonnes in May, 24,466 tonnes in January of 2010, 26,300 tonnes in December and 24,300 tonnes in July of 2009.
"In January to July, 2010, 174,700 tonnes of meat were produced that is by 1.8% more than meat manufacture for the 2009 same term (171,600 tonnes)," the SSC reported.
Last year, meat production totalled 305,100 tonnes that exceeded by 0.8% the production in 2008 (302,800 tonnes).
"In January to July, 2010, 868,500 tonnes of milk were produced (+4.9%) against 827,700 tonnes for 2009 relevant period and 1.4 million tonnes for 2009 and 709.5 million eggs (-1.7%) versus 721.6 million and 1.209 billion eggs respectively," the committee informed.
As of July 1, the country's cattle stock increased by 1.7% on-year up to 2.627 million heads. Data about swine stock were not published. As of April 1, the country's cattle stock increased by 1.7% on-year up to 2.618 million heads. Pig stock declined by 45.4% to 6,600 heads. By January 1, the country's cattle stock increased by 1.2% up to 2.6 million heads. Pig stock reduced by 20.3% to 8,200 heads.
For comparison, as of January 1, 2009, the country's cattle stock increased by 1.5% up to 2.549 million heads on an annualised basis. Pig stock reduced by 37.6% to 11,700 heads.
