Sulphate additives markets stable in China

Cupric sulphate

July's copper demand in China strengthened considerably, lifting the production costs of cupric sulphate lately.

As of August 16, transaction prices of cupric sulphate moved higher to the range of RMB13,600-13,950/tonne.

Higher ingredients costs will lend some support to the cupric sulphate market.

Zinc sulphate

Zinc futures prices were increased modestly lately, hence helping to underpin zinc sulphate prices despite slack demand.

Prices are less likely to strengthen with demand improving slowly.

Manganese sulphate

Demand for manganese sulphate was limited while overall poultry inventories, although expanding, remained significantly below pre-H7N9 outbreak levels.

Tight supplies are expected to hold manganese sulphate prices firm.

Ferrous sulphate

Lower supplies of ferrous sulphate kept prices firm during the period in review.

Meanwhile, traders concluded deals in the general market remained in the range of RMB750-1,000/tonne.

Slow feed demand, which decimates the sales of ferrous sulphate, will limit the upward potential of ferrous sulphate market.
