Brazil expects lower grain crop output for 2005-06
Brazil's grain crop forecast for 2005-06 was lowered to 113.507 million tonnes, down 4.91 percent from 119.37 million tonnes in 2004-05, according to the Brazilian Census Bureau (IBGE).
The earlier forecast in July for the 2005-06 grain crop was 113.746 million tonnes.
Meanwhile, grain-planted area for 2005-06 was expected to rise 0.5 percent to 48 million hectares.
