40% Of Japanese Consumers Refrain From Consuming US Beef
Japanese online research company Macromill announced the results of its latest attitude survey on US beef and consumer awareness.
The company surveyed a total of 1,033 people aged 20-59 living in the Tokyo metropolitan area via the Internet on August 6 and 7. Of the respondents, 39% said that they do not want to eat US beef while 20% are willing to eat the meat.
Furthermore, 40% of the respondents favor thorough screen-testing of all US-originated cows as a condition to resume importing US beef to Japan.
