Ukraine's grain stocks drop 21% this year

 
 

As of August 1, 2010, Ukraine has 16.9 million tonnes of grain stored by agricultural enterprises and enterprises involved in the storage and processing of grain crops, a 21% on-year decrease, the State Statistics Committee has reported.

 

In particular, the enterprises stored 10.9 million tonnes of wheat, 4.2 million tonnes of barley, 500,000 tonnes of corn, and 500,000 tonnes of rye.

 

Agricultural enterprises stored 10.9 million tonnes of grain (a fall of 16%), including 6.8 million tonnes of wheat, 2.9 million tonnes of barley, 300,000 tonnes of corn, and 200,000 tonnes of rye.

 

Enterprises involved in the storage and processing of grain crops stored 6 million tonnes of grain (a fall of 27%), including 4.4 million tonnes stored at enterprises involved in grain storage (a fall of 26%).
