Pakistan starts seafood exports to EU

Pakistan has started exporting seafood to the EU after the country's government recently lifted a self-imposed six-month ban, industry reports said.

A leading domestic seafood exporter said at least 10 to 12 refrigerated containers had been shipped to EU countries in recent days.

Pakistan's government had earlier imposed a ban on seafood exports to the EU, after EU inspectors expressed concern over sanitary conditions at the Karachi fish harbour earlier this year.
