Market analysis

Demand from lysine softened as famers withheld buying while soymeal prices were low and feed demand was slack. However, producers stood firm with supplies limited due to production halts.

In Europe, lysine price quotes were lower in the range of RMB1.60-1.62/kg.

Market forecast

Feed demand will pick up gradually, lending support to the sales of lysine. However, with hog population low and soymeal prices substantially lower compared with a month ago, while supplies are poised to increase with more producers resuming production after routine maintenance, the upward potential of lysine market is limited.
