Moldova's H1 meat imports stable
Moldova imported meat and preserved meats worth US$9.4 million in January-June 2010, up 0.8% from the same period of 2009, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
This category of products made up 0.5% of Moldova's total import volumes in January-June 2010, compared with 0.6% in 2009. During the same period, the country's animal imports in live weight totalled US$3.3 million, a 16.7% decrease on-year.
Over the first six months of 2010, Moldova exported meat and preserved meats worth US$2.5 million, 4.5 times more than in 2009. That accounted for 0.4% of Moldova's total exports. Exports of animals in live weight reached US$2.2 million, 5.9 times more than in January-June 2009.
