Exports of Ukraine's meat products to China will begin in 2014, agrarian policy and food minister of Ukraine Mykola Prysiazhniuk announced during the cabinet meeting.

Prysiazhniuk said that the ministry had started the process of certification and obtaining permits for the supply of meat products to China.

"According to preliminary estimates, the export of meat to China will begin in 2014. This is a significant step in the agrarian sector of Ukraine, as China is a huge market and [has] millions of consumers," Prysiazhniuk said.

He also said that the certification of wheat, barley and soybeans for export to China will be completed by next week. "We are planning to export not only meat products, but also grain crops," Prysiazhniuk added.
