Publix to roll out natural chicken, beef and pork
Publix Super Markets, based in Lakeland, Florida, is set to expand its GreenWise Market brand in the next few months to include natural meat products.
First in line will be chicken. Publix is set to roll out a line of antibiotic-free chicken raised on a vegetarian diet. The chicken would be air-chilled rather than water-chilled during processing to promote better flavour, Publix said.
This would be followed later by natural beef and pork products, the chain said.
Publix is developing its organic product range due to popular demand.
