Pakistan sees need for more value added seafood exports
There was a need for Pakistan's seafood processors to add value to their products, in order to enhance their export competitiveness, according to the country's government.
The government said Pakistan's existing volume of value added seafood exports was very small, but hoped the country's seafood exports could achieve greater value through use of scientific methods.
52 percent of Pakistan's fish and fishery products are currently exported to the EU, with the US and Japan among the country's major importers, the government said.
