US considers lifting of anti-dumping tariff on Thai shrimp
US officials would visit Thailand's southern provinces of Phuket and Phang Nga soon, to assess tsunami damage that affected shrimp farms, the Thai government said.
Information obtained by the officials would be used in American consideration to lift the anti-dumping tariff imposed earlier on Thai shrimp.
The Thai government would also inform the US that it was unable so far, to improve the situation of tsunami-hit shrimp farms, and that the anti-dumping tariff should be lifted to help maintain global competitiveness of Thai shrimp.
