China imports 34.92 million tonnes of soy during January – July 2012
 

 

China has received 5.87 million tonnes of soy imports in July, with overall imports during the January - July period at 34.92 million tonnes, up 20.1% on-year.

 

As shown by data, the nation imported four million tonnes of edible plant oil from January to July and imported 730,000 tonnes in July alone. China totally imported 8.68 million tonnes of grains and grain powders in the first seven months and imported 1.34 million tonnes in July alone. The country imported 2.0675 million tonnes of fresh, dried fruits and nuts during the first seven months.

 

In terms of import amount, in the first seven months of this year, soy import hit US$19.563 billion, up 16.8% on-year. Edible plant oil import reached US$4.717 billion, rising by 19.3% on-year. Import of fresh and dried fruits and nuts amounted to US$2.197 billion, growing by 29.8% on-year. Grain and grain powder reached US$2.977 billion, surging by 219.4% on-year.
