Belarus rapeseed production to reach one million tonnes in 2010

In 2010, Belarus should reach the level of rapeseed production to 1 million tonnes, declared Alexander Lukashenko, the president of the Republic of Belarus.

According to the Lukashenko, in the terms of the crisis, the country should invest money in purchasing of new technologies. The government has received task to purchase seven plants for rapeseed processing.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, as of August 12, agrarians of the country harvested 738,000 tonnes of winter rapeseed as opposed to 593,000 tonnes on the same date of 2008.
