Ukraine harvests 25.17 million tonnes grains as of August 9
 

 

Ukraine harvested early grains and leguminous plants throughout the areas of 9.7 million hectares or 99.8% of the forecast of which the produced volumes totalled 25.17 million tonnes of grains with the average yield of 25.9 centners per hectare as of August 9, 2012.

 

At the same time, on the same date in 2011 the harvested grain volumes totalled 32.75 million tonnes with the average yield of 30.4 centners per hectare (c/ha), declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

 

In particular, as of the reporting date in 2012 agrarians harvested winter wheat throughout the areas of 5.4 million hectares (99.9% of the plan), and produced 15.64 million tonnes of the grain with the average yield at 29 c/ha.

 

Ukraine already harvested 647,000 tonnes of spring wheat throughout 222,200 hectares (96%). The average yield totalled 29.1 c/ha. Agrarians harvested 5.73 million tonnes of spring barley throughout 2.58 million hectares (99.8%), with the yield of 22.2 c/ha.

 

Besides, as of the reporting date agrarians harvested 700,100 tonnes of rye throughout the areas of 297,800 hectares (99.7%), with the average yield of 23.5 c/ha.

 

Agrarians harvested winter rapeseed throughout the areas of 531,800 hectares (97% of the forecast), and produced 1.18 million tonnes with the average yield of 22.3 c/ha.

 

Also, agrarians started harvesting buckwheat and millet. As of the reporting date, Ukraine harvested 21,700 tonnes of buckwheat throughout 23,000 hectares (8%) with the yield of 9.5 c/ha.

 

Ukraine harvested millet throughout 35,000 hectares, and produced 42,800 tonnes, the yield totalled 12.2 c/ha. Besides, Ukraine started works to prepare the soil for planting of winter crops. As of the reporting date, agrarians processed the areas of 6.14 million hectares (67% of the plan).
