Russia's October grain exports may rise to 3.7 million tonnes
 

 

Russia's volume of grain exports in October 2012 may reach 3.7 million tonnes and will continue increasing in the near future.

 

This was forecasted by Igor Pavensky, head of the analysis sector of department of strategic marketing of CJSC "Rusagrotrans", which will become one of the key speakers of the international conference "Grain of Russia - 2012", on August 10.

 

The expert also informed that in August 2012 the export supplies of Russian grains are expected to total nearly three million tonnes, in September - nearly 3.2-3.5 million tonnes.

 

I.Pavensky also updated the forecast of the general grain harvest in the Russian Federation in 2012, reducing it to the level of 75.2 million tonnes, against 77.4 million tonnes of the previous forecast. The wheat production will total 42.5 million tonnes (56.5% of the general harvest), against 56.2 million tonnes (59.7%) in 2011. In the current year the harvest of barley will decrease by 2.3 million tonnes - to 14.6 million tonnes.

 

Corn will be the only grain crop, which production volumes in the current year will exceed the last year index - 7.2-7.6 million tonnes, against seven million tonnes in 2011, said I.Pavensky.
