GrainCorp appoints new managing director and CEO

 

 

 

GrainCorp has announced the appointment of Mark Palmquist as the company's managing director and CEO.

 

Palmquist is expected to begin his new role at GrainCorp on October 1, 2014, and will be relocating from Minnesota, US, following his departure from CHS. He is currently the executive vice president and chief operating officer (Ag Business) at CHS, a leading global agribusiness which he joined in 1979. Once the organisation's senior vice president and director of the grain marketing division, he oversees all of CHS's international grain-related business units. 

 

With a career service record of over 35 years, Palmquist has held several leadership positions in food and agricultural industries within North America, South America, Europe and Asia.

 

He serves on the board of directors of Ardent Mills and is a long standing member of the

Minneapolis Grain Exchange and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

 

Palmquist holds a bachelor's degree in business from Gustavus Adolphus College and attended a Master of Business Administration programme at the University of Minnesota, US.
