More license for Vietnam seafood exporters

Vietnam's National Agro-forestry and Fisheries Quality Assurance Department (Nafiqad) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) reported that more Vietnamese  seafood enterprises have been qualified to export their products to the EU, Russia, Japan, Republic of Korea (RoK) and China.

Based on Nafiqad's statistics, Vietnam has 300 enterprises able to export to EU, 440 to China, 30 to the Russian Federation, 60 to Brazil and 450 to Japan.

EU and Japan are Vietnam's biggest importers of marine product.

The department assessed that made-in-Vietnam marine products are available in hundreds of foreign markets.

Despite the global economic recession, the export turnover of seafood product stood at US$2.2 billion in the first seven month, only down 9 percent compared to the same period last year.
