Vietnam province plans to export seafood products worth US$170 million
Vietnam's southern province of Kien Giang has announced a plan to export US$170 million of seafood products this year, the Communist Party of Vietnam said on Tuesday (Aug 11).
In the first seven months, the province shipped only US$49.85 million of seafood products abroad, down 13.17 percent from a year ago.
The local government attributed a drop in seafood shipments in the period to effects of the global economic downturn, lack of input materials and using residues.
