China H1 livestock product trade deficit shows increase
China's trade deficit of livestock products was US$2.5 billion in the first half of 2010, an on-year increase of 110%, according to a statement by the Ministry of Agriculture.
Livestock exports rose 17.9% on-year to US$2.1 billion in the period, while imports were up 54% at US$4.6 billion, the statement said. The ministry did not provide breakdowns in its statement.
In the first five months, China's trade deficit of livestock products was also up 110% at US$2 billion, while in 2009, it fell 19.2% to US$2.7 billion.
