Russian grain harvest to fall 13.4 percent on-year
                                


Russia's grain harvest has amounted to 45.3 million tonnes so far this year, which is 13.4-percent less than in the same period last year, the Agriculture Ministry said in a report Monday (Aug 10), Prime-Tass news agency reports.

 

Grain has been harvested from 34.5 percent of the total planted area, the ministry said.

 

In 2009, Russia's grain harvest is forecast to be 85 million tonnes, Agriculture Minister Yelena Skrynnik said earlier. Last year, the grain harvest in Russia was 108 million tonnes.
