Corn prices in China mixed; significant falls seen in Guangdong ports (Aug 11, 2005)
An eFeedLink exclusive report
Corn prices in China generally moved within a narrow range early this week.
Prices generally remained stable in the north-eastern production regions.
Prices in the Yellow / Huai River production regions also generally remained stable in recent days, with marginal increases registered in some areas.
With increased local demand and reduced supplies in recent days, transacted prices of corn in some inland consumption regions edged higher by RMB10-20/tonne.
Due to abundant supplies in Guangdong ports, including Shekou port in Shenzhen, corn prices there have fallen significantly.
