Australia's AWB Wins Wheat Tender To Pakistan
Australia's AWB has won a share of the latest tender to export wheat to Pakistan.
There will be100,000 tons of Australian wheat delivered in September, with the US and Russia making up the rest of the contract.
A spokesman for AWB says the organization is happy with the terms and conditions of the contract, and does not expect any problems because the grain is to be sold directly to the Pakistani Government.
Earlier this year, 150,000 tons of Australian wheat was rejected by Pakistan when it claimed the grain was infected with the fungal disease Karnal bunt.
Testing later proved the wheat was disease-free.
