China buys 165,000 tonnes US soy
The sale of 165,000 tonnes of US soy to China which is for delivery in the new marketing year has been reported by private exporters, boosting China's total for the week to 271,000 tonnes.
On Monday (Aug 6), China bought 106,000 tonnes of US soy, also for delivery in the 2012-13 marketing year, which opens on September 1.
By law, exporters must report promptly the sale of 100,000 tonnes or more of a commodity to the same destination in one day. Sales of smaller amounts are reported on a weekly basis.
