Ukraine's grain imports dropped by 31.7% or 3,490 tonnes in June 2012 compared to June 2011, to 7,510 tonnes for US$4.01 million.
Ukrainian News learned this from a source in the Cabinet of Ministers.
In June, the companies mainly imported barley (3,350 tonnes or 44.6% of the total grain imports).
Grain imports fell by 12% or 1,020 tonnes in June against May.
In January-June 2012 against the corresponding period of 2011, grain imports fell by 4.4% or 4,080 tonnes to 89,700 tonnes for US$208.94 million.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in May 2012 grain imports decreased by 48.1% or 7,890 tonnes compared to May 2011, to 8,530 tonnes for US$12.32 million.
In 2011, as compared with 2010, grain imports increased by 41.9% or 45,190 tonnes to 153,000 tonnes for US$219.79 million.
