China's meat processing Shuanghui Group promotes its home-grown brands
Shuanghui Group, which is China's leading meat-processing company, may have built strategic partnerships with foreign investors, but it will persist in building up and promoting its home-grown brands. Group director Wan Long said this to a group of visitors who were on a "Brand Promotion Tour" recently.
"Although tying up with foreign investors will help to enhance management practices and assist in advancing production technologies, our local management team will still play the lead role in building up Shuanghui's brand names, with foreign investors playing a supportive role," Wan said.
Shuanghui Group plans to invest RMB10 billion, both in China and abroad during the country's eleventh five-year plan (2006-2010), with the aim of building up itself as a globally competitive multi-national corporation.
