Russia increases soy export duties
 

 

Customs duties on soy when they are exported outside the Customs Union member countries have been increased by the Government of Russia from the current level of 5% but not less than EUR8.5 (US$10.6) per tonne, to 20% but not less than EUR35 (US$43) per tonne.

 

The corresponding decree of the Government of the Russian Federation #756 dated July 21, 2012, was posted at the web-site of the Government on August 3.

 
According to the document, the export duties on sunflower seed and rapeseed remain at the current levels, and total 20% but not less than EUR39 (US$48) per tonne, and 15% but not less than EUR30 (US$37) per tonne, respectively.

 

These changes of export duties are realised in connection with the Russia's accession to the World Trade Organisation, and come into force on August 23, 2012, - the date of entry into force of the protocol on Russia's accession to the WTO.
