Russia's meat imports up 12 percent on-year in January-June
Russia's meat imports increased 11.8 percent on-year to 712,400 tonnes in January-June, according to the Federal Customs Service.
The value of meat imports during the period rose 22.8 percent on-year to US$1.91 billion.
Imports from countries outside the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) accounted for nearly all meat imports in the period, the service said.
Russia's poultry imports during the period grew 9.4 percent on-year to 585,300 tonnes with a value of US$557.7 million, up 33.1 percent on-year, according to the service, adding that Russia imported poultry only from non-CIS countries in the period.
Fish imports increased 3.9 percent on-year to 408,800 tonnes, with its value increasing 13.7 percent on-year to US$704.8 million.
