China 2007/08 net corn exports seen 1.5 million tonnes
China's net corn exports should be 1.5 million tonnes in the 2007/08 crop year, a government think tank said Wednesday (Aug 8).
This would be 3.48 million tonnes lower than its net corn export forecast in 2006/07, according a report issued by China National Grain and Oils Information Centre.
China should import 31.5 million tonnes of soybean and 2.9 million tonnes of soyoil in the 2007/08 crop year, which starts from October 2007, it said.
The centre also cut its total corn consumption forecast for 2006/07 by 1 million tonnes to 145 million tonnes.
