Czech grain harvest expected to fall 11 percent this year

Czechoslovakia's grain harvest was expected at 7.3 million tonnes this year, a year-on-year fall of 11 percent, according to the country's government.

Average grain yield for each hectare would also be lower, at 4.86 tonnes/hectare compared with 5.43 tonnes/hectare the previous year.

Meanwhile, rapeseed harvest yield was estimated at 2.90 tonnes/hectare compared with 3.60 tonnes/hectare the previous year.
